ILAG “legs it” around Lake Sihl
Four of our ILAG colleagues put on their running and walking shoes on 23 August to take part in the annual “Sihlsee-Lauf” around Lake Sihl, near Zurich. Romy Ruoss and Silvia Vogt participated in the 10km Nordic Walking category, while Werner Schwendeler and Dennis Zahner opted for the 14km run.The team were excellently prepared for their events by Daniel Auf der Mauer. And the contests offered them all a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate the fitness they had acquired under the Fit2014@ilag company health programme since the beginning of the year. In fact, they should have been joined by further colleagues; but these had had to withdraw owing to injuries shortly before the event.A good performanceUnder the expert eye of Daniel Auf der Mauer, our running duo warmed up for their event in cool and rainy conditions. The race itself was pretty dry, though, and both runners recorded highly presentable times. The Nordic Walkers were less lucky with the weather. But they didn’t let it get them down, and finished well in line with their target times – even after the odd break to take a few snaps of the scenery en route.All four participants thoroughly enjoyed the event.
